Effect of Organic Fertilizer Type and Levels on Growth Indicators and Yield of Pepper Plant (Capsicum Annuum L.)
Abstract
A field experiment was conducted in one of the greenhouses of the Technical Institute / Al-Musayyib, the Plant Production Department in the Al-Musayyib project area (36 km north of Babylon) during the autumn season 2021-2022 to study the effect of the type and level of organic matter on the growth and yield of pepper in cultivar greenhouses. Four types of organic matter, which represent (poultry residues, vermicompost residues, palm fronds residues and dried blood mixed with soil), at levels (0, 10, 20 tons ha-1)The experiment was designed according to a randomized complete block design (R.C.B.D) and the experiment included 36 treatments distributed on three replicates, and the averages were compared using the (L.S.D) test, the least significant difference at the level (0.05). The results showed: The type of organic fertilizer added had a significant effect on increasing plant height and number Leaves, leaf area, leaf chlorophyll, dry weight and total plant yield (kg m-2), The treatment of poultry was significantly excelled compared to the rest of the treatments, and the level of manure addition of 20 tons ha-1 was significantly excelled on the treatment of 10 tons ha-1 and the control treatment, and the interaction between the type of organic fertilizer and the level of its addition had a significant effect on all traits.
