Abstract

Digital health projects are becoming increasingly popular in many parts of the world. Though the digital health initiative is envisioned as a cost-effective approach to assure the provision of health care services, particularly for those living in rural regions, its success is contingent on the health care system's reaction as well as governmental control and regulation. With the advancement of digital technologies, Indian healthcare settings have begun to embrace 'Digital Health,' including digital health records, telemedicine, and artificial intelligence (AI).In recent years, the prospects of employing digital technology in healthcare have improved. In general, India's health status has improved. India is the world's second most populous country, with 70% of the population residing in rural areas. The Indian government has taken a number of steps in terms of digital health interventions to make healthcare more accessible to the bulk of its rural counterparts. In the field of health care, technology is quickly evolving. However, given the slow rate of adoption, it may take more than a few years for them to establish themselves in India. There are no shortcuts to implementing digital health in a systematic, coordinated, and integrated manner. Because of the large number of patients, India is an information-rich country. Although India has made significant progress in providing better healthcare to its citizens, the country continues to face numerous challenges, including a growing population, an increase in noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), a lack of necessary infrastructure, limited access to healthcare facilities, non-adherence to treatment, and a shortage of healthcare professionals. Here, technology and digital health will fill the void.
